A lethargic defeat in Jeonbuk’s debut…Petrescu’s colors are still in the air
We need time.
Professional soccer K League 1 side Jeonbuk Hyundai lost 0-2 in the 19th round of the Hana One Q K League 2023 against Gwangju FC on Thursday at the Gwangju Football Stadium. Jeonbuk now has eight wins, three draws, and three losses (27 points) 메이저놀이터.
The game marked the debut of head coach Dan Petrescu (56, Jeonbuk). Petrescu was appointed as Jeonbuk’s head coach on September 9. He began his coaching career in 2003 with FC Sportul București (Romania) and has since worked in Poland, Russia, Qatar, and China. In the 2022-2023 season, he was the head coach of CFR Cluj (Romania). He won four Romanian league titles with the club.
Petrescu was appointed in June before the A-League break and had about ten days to make his debut. However, it was difficult to assemble a full squad due to injuries to key players. Baek Seung-ho (26), Hong Jeong-ho (34), and Kim Moon-hwan (28) had already left the team before his arrival. They also lost Kim Jin-soo (31), who had been to the national team, to injury. Kim suffered an orbital fracture against El Salvador on the 20th, and his long-term departure was confirmed.
Petrescu tried to open up the attack by utilizing long striker Gustavo. However, it did not lead to a finish. The crosses from the side were also disappointing. The veterans, Choi Chul-soon and Han Kyo-won, were on the field, but the offense did not develop smoothly. They conceded the first goal to Lee Sun-min in the 19th minute of the first half. In the second half, they conceded another goal to Lee Kun-hee and completely collapsed. Especially in the second half, Gwangju’s sharp counterattacks put them in danger of conceding several goals 안전놀이터순위.
Petrescu’s colors didn’t really show. On the day, Jeonbuk was outplayed in both possession (47%-53%) and shots (6-10). It was a disappointing performance considering it was away from home. Coach Petrescu said, “The players who came back from injury weren’t physically perfect. There are also players who have traveled to the national team. The fitness problem is a combination of factors.”
Jeonbuk will meet Gwangju again in the quarterfinals of the Korea Football Association FA Cup at home at Jeonju World Cup Stadium on Nov. 28. Petrescu is determined to win at home.
