Doosan→NC→KT→Lotte… 35-year-old release pitcher, new start at KIA
The KIA Tigers have reinforced their strength by recruiting three players to be released.
The KIA Tigers announced on the 11th that they had recruited invincible pitchers Kim Kon-guk (35) and Kim Seung-hyeon (31) and infielder Kim Yong-wan (20).
Kim Geon-guk graduated from Hanseo Elementary School, Cheongryang Middle School, and Deoksu High School and was a top-notch prospect who joined Doosan in 2006 as the 6th ranked player in the 2nd round of the 1st round. However, contrary to his expectations, he failed to secure a place in the first team, and he lived a journeyman life, transferring to Lotte after passing through NC and KT.
Kim Kon-guk finally blossomed in his career at Lotte. In the 2019 season, he had an average ERA of 4.46 with 3 wins, 3 losses and 3 holds in 37 games, followed by an average ERA of 3.98 with 3 wins, 2 losses and 1 hold in 32 games the following year.
Kim Kon-guk, who was released from Lotte at the end of the 2021 season, took a break last year, but after a time of perseverance, he was called by KIA and was able to aim for a comeback. Kim Kon-guk’s first-team career record is 88 games (132 innings), 7 wins, 5 losses, 4 holds, and an average ERA of 4.57.
Kim Seung-hyun also graduated from Noam Elementary School – Gyeongpo Middle School – Gangneung High School – Konkuk University and received the top 10 nomination in the 2016 Samsung 2nd Round 1. However, it was difficult to save the heavy fastball in the mid-150 km range, and suffered the pain of release leaving an average ERA of 11.25 with 1 loss and 2 holds in 6 games in the 2022 season. Kim Seung-hyun recorded an average ERA of 5.51 with 2 wins, 8 losses and 4 holds in 91 games in his 5 seasons. 메이저사이트
Kim Yong-wan is a young player born in 2003. After graduating from Pyeongchon Elementary School – Pyeongchon Middle School – Ansan Technical High School, he joined the 2022 Lotte 2nd Round 10 in the 94th place, but was released after leaving 76 games batting average of 2.3 6, 39 hits and 14 RBIs in the Futures League without a first-team record.
A KIA official said, “Kim Kon-guk and Kim Seung-hyun are resources that can be used as a middle ground and were recruited to strengthen depth. Kim Yong-wan is a young and quick-footed infield utility resource, and we expect that it will be widely used in the future,” he explained the reason for recruiting them.
Kim Seung-hyun has been training at Hampyeong Challengers Field, the futures stadium, since the 3rd. Kim Kon-guk will join the team on the 16th and Kim Yong-wan will start training on the 1st of next month.
