Kane really wants to leave, completes personal agreement with Munich…Tottenham face biggest crisis yet
Tottenham could keep Harry Kane this summer.
Christian Falk, who works as a dedicated Bayern Munich journalist for Germany’s Bild, reported on Sunday (July 27) that “Munich and Kane have reached an agreement in principle for a transfer this summer. The negotiations were conducted by Kane’s family. The only prerequisite for the transfer now is an agreement with Tottenham.”
‘Mr. Tottenham’ Kane is a living legend at the club. He grew up in Tottenham and became one of the best players in the world there. After bursting onto the scene in the 2014-15 season, Kane quickly became a world-class player 먹튀검증.
Despite having the best player in the club’s history, Tottenham have been woefully unable to win trophies. Even under Mauricio Pochettino, one of the best eras in Spurs’ history, the club finished runners-up in the Premier League and runners-up in the UEFA Champions League (UCL). In response, Spurs brought in Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte, both of whom have been nicknamed championship hired guns, but nothing changed.
Kane’s departure has been a topic of conversation whenever Tottenham have struggled, but he has shown his loyalty each time. However, Kane’s stance has changed, and it showed in his actions during the summer transfer window of the 2021-22 season.
Kane decided he couldn’t win trophies at Tottenham and wanted a move. He refused to join the club’s pre-season training, citing a gentleman’s agreement with chairman Daniel Levy to force a move to Man City. Ultimately, Kane stayed, with Spurs not changing their stance that they would never sell him, but that’s when fan unrest began to grow.
Fortunately, Conte’s arrival brought Kane back to life, and Spurs finished fourth in the league, which eased Kane’s mind, but only temporarily. In 2022-23, Tottenham failed to qualify for Europe for the first time since Kane’s debut. It wouldn’t be surprising if Kane wanted to move again.
This is where Munich comes in. Since Robert Lewandowski’s departure to Barcelona, the Bavarians have struggled to find a replacement at the striker position. They brought in Sadio Mane from Liverpool, but Mane hasn’t been a shadow of his Liverpool self. He hasn’t fit in at the club either, assaulting Leroy Sane in the locker room.
Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting has been unexpectedly good, but Choupo-Moting is a player who doesn’t carry the weight of other big clubs. He’s not enough of a starter for Munich, who are aiming for the European championship, not the German title.
That’s why they’re targeting Kane. Although Kane is no longer with the club, the former CEO Oliver Kahn and former coach Jupp Heynckes have been interested in him since the days of Julian Nagelsmann. The Bavarians, who are looking to strengthen their striker position, moved as soon as they were targeted, as if they wanted Kim Min-jae at center back.
Florian Plettenberg, a reporter for Germany’s Sky Sports with inside knowledge of Munich, reported on Sunday that “Kane has become a top transfer target after Munich held internal talks. In the last few days, new discussions have taken place between Munich and Kane. The Bavarians have once again confirmed that a transfer is realistic.”
“Kane’s position has been very positive in these negotiations. Kane has made it clear that if he were to leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer and move abroad, it would be to Munich. The Bavarians have internally assumed that they can sign Kane for less than €100 million.”
Things didn’t turn out quite the way Munich hoped. On the evening of the 27th, David Onstein of the British newspaper The Athletic reported that “Munich have made a €70m (£99.6m) bid for Kane. It is understood to include add-ons.” Tottenham’s answer, of course, was no.
For now, Tottenham remain adamant that they will never sell Kane. While there is talk that Tottenham could consider selling Kane for more than €116 million, Munich’s initial offer was far from what Spurs were looking for.
Despite Munich’s aggressive moves, Tottenham and Kane have remained quiet for now. However, one thing is for sure, the atmosphere is definitely different than when Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) were linked to Kane.
Man Utd and Real have had difficult negotiations with chairman Daniel Levy, and Tottenham’s asking price has been deemed too high, leading to the club giving up on the deal early on. Real seem to be focused on signing Kylian Mbappe. PSG are believed to be in contact with Victor Osimhen’s representatives rather than Kane. Munich, on the other hand, are only looking at Kane for now.
‘The Athletic’ further reported, “Kane is not in talks with Tottenham about a new contract. Nevertheless, nothing has been decided about his future. For now, talks are taking place between the two clubs. Kane is not actively pursuing a move,” the source explained.
“The stumbling block is the negotiation between the clubs. 메이저놀이터추천 The personal terms between Kane and Munich will not be an issue. If big clubs from other continents make an effort to sign him, Kane and Tottenham will have to make a big decision.”
