‘Saudi capital’ Newcastle to stage stars after 21 years!

Newcastle United is back in the Champions League for the first time in 21 years.

Newcastle United drew 0-0 with Leicester City in the 37th round of the 2022-23 English Premier League season at St. James’ Park on Wednesday (ET).

With the result, third-place Newcastle, which earned a point, moved four points clear of fifth-place Liverpool in the league with 19 wins, 13 draws, five losses and 50 points.

Both Newcastle and Liverpool have one game in hand, meaning Newcastle will secure at least a fourth-place finish regardless of their final match. It’s their first Champions League appearance in 21 years. Newcastle’s last Champions League appearance was in the 2002-03 season 먹튀검증.

In the winter of 2021, Newcastle was in the relegation zone in 19th place. The club was bought by Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund, and Eddie Howe was hired to bolster the squad with quality signings at the right time, eventually realizing the dream of reaching the Champions League.

Despite their wealth, Newcastle haven’t really spent much money yet. Now that they’ve qualified for the Champions League, it’s likely that they’ll be adding quite a few players this summer. It will be interesting to see how Newcastle fare in the Champions League.
