“Steph Curry, the most influential player of all time,” Williams raves
Williams praises Curry.
Grant Williams of the Dallas Mavericks recently appeared on the Tidal League podcast. In it, he reminisced about playing against Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry.
Williams faced Curry several times in a Boston Celtics uniform before moving to Dallas. One of the most memorable series was the 2022 Finals 안전놀이터.
Boston defeated a series of Eastern Conference powerhouses, starting with the Brooklyn Nets, then the Milwaukee Bucks and Miami Heat, to reach the Finals. The Celtics, fueled by youth and grit, faced a seasoned Golden State squad.
Boston took the first three games of the series, winning two and losing one. Game 4 was no different. The Warriors held a four-point lead with 4:56 left in the game. That’s when Curry emerged as the hero. Curry scored a whopping 10 points down the stretch to send Boston to defeat.
Curry’s stat line in Game 4 was 43 points, including seven 3-pointers, 10 rebounds, and four assists. After setting the tone, Boston ultimately fell to their knees in the Finals and finished as runners-up.
“We made the series 2-1 in the Finals,” Williams said. We thought it was our time. We were leading in Game 4. I thought we might win it. But Steph Curry was different, he was so tough,” Williams recalled of the Finals.
Williams also watched all of the Golden State-Cleveland Cavaliers series in the mid-to-late 2010s. Williams added that Curry’s play was unbelievable at the time.
Williams also said that Curry was the most influential player in the game. He noted Curry’s off-the-ball moves.
“Kevin Durant is the hardest player in the league to defend,” Williams said. Curry is the most impactful player in the league. When he has the ball, you have to focus on defense. But I think he’s even scarier when he’s doing his off-the-ball moves.”
